Birth Doula Support in Denver & Boulder, CO

Connection & trust is needed in the birth space.

Whether I am your birth doula, your photographer, or your childbirth or yoga instructor, my intention is always to truly, authentically connect with you and foster a space where you and your birth partner and team stay connected to a safe, empowering and memorable birth.

I want to hear your story - not just what pregnancy has been like for you but who you are, what matters to you and how you envision your future with your baby (and beyond).

Let’s connect and explore how I might support you and your family in your journey to meeting your baby.

What is my birth philosophy?

One thing that I believe and know, without a doubt, is that there is no right or wrong way to give birth.

As your doula, I really begin from a place of connection and by trusting you and your innate wisdom around who you are and what you need. Your ability to listen to your body, heart and inner knowing when you’re preparing to meet your baby and in labor, birth and postpartum is at the forefront of our relationship.

I know that you are the expert on you, your baby and your needs. I am an expert in birth but you are the only one who truly knows what you and your baby need. I will never tell you how I think you should do your birth - I will offer evidence-based information, education and ask you a lot of questions so you come to your decision from what YOU believe is the next best move.

My role and intention as your doula is to always guide you back to this place of deep knowing. You’re already a good mother and parent by just looking into birth education and support….you are well on your way.

A deeper dive….

WHO AM I AS A DOULA?

  • I am someone who really listens to you without agenda or bias.

  • I am a solution-oriented birth worker - and I know when to step in with suggestions and when to witness and hold space for you. It’s a delicate balance sometimes but I trust your own wisdom - even if it’s your first time giving birth.I am a passionate advocate. I want your voice and desires to be centered at all times and I’m not afraid to help elevate your wants and needs. I am respectful and diplomatic and unafraid of asking questions.

  • I am balanced and grounded. I don’t just teach mindfulness and yoga, it is a huge part of who I am as a mother and birth worker. This also means I like to go deep with people. If I am your doula, I like you! I want to know you as much as possible. We will be spending a lot of time together and in a very intimate setting.

  • My clients often hire me because I am knowledgable, experienced, and calm. They have often commented on the ease with which I speak and work with other members of your birth team, whether they are OB-Gyns, Midwives, or Nurses, as well as your family or friends you’ve chosen to join you.

  • I want this to be an amazing, connecting experience for you and your partner. I want to be a resource for you both, to make things easier and for you to feel safe and supported enough to just BE in the experience.

  • I value the role of your partner and the connection you have with one another. I try to foster this in the birth room - and never aim to take the place of your partner. In fact, I work to empower them to show up as their best selves, however much or little they want to be involved without judgement or pressure. We even set up a Partner Plan so they are supported and prepared for birth!

  • I have a sense of humor and am not afraid to crack a joke or two (or more) in labor. I really believe labor and birth can be joyful, exciting and fun and know we all need to laugh at times!

  • I have done a lot of personal work to become the doula I am. I have checked my biases and when I enter your space, I leave my ego at the door.

A few things about me…

A young boy gently kissing an infant who is lying in a hospital bed with a nasal oxygen tube.
A smiling man with a beard holding a camera, sitting on a wooden chair outdoors with trees and a house in the background.
A young girl with down syndrome and glasses lying on a green couch smiling, with a blurred background including a stool and plants.
  • Family is everything to me. And we are all from and live in Colorado. I grew up in a small town in Western Colorado, though my heart has always preferred the big city!

  • My husband is my best friend and soul mate. He is also is the reason I can be a birth doula with an on-call schedule. He is also VERY gifted as a photographer and we really enjoy talking about photography and shooting together!

  • I LOVE to travel and though it has changed since having kiddos, we still go on adventures as often as possible!

  • I am a huge book lover! I am always listening to an audio book or have bookmarks in at least three other books!

  • My ideal day includes a mug of coffee, a book in hand/ear, my black doggo or fluffy cat nearby and my family around me!

  • I’m a huge advocate, especially for those with disabilities. My sweet daughter has Down syndrome and our path through hospitals, schools and life has not been easy (though it has taught me SO much!)

  • I am a boy mom in all ways one can be. He made me a mom and being pregnant and giving birth to him changed my life in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined.

Doula Client Reviews

I cannot recommend Rebecca enough! She was my doula for the birth of my daughter and I tell everyone that I had the labor and delivery of my dreams because of her. Rebecca not only prepped us beforehand, asking important questions for what we wanted, but then on the day she was confident, soothing, strong and resilient in every way I needed her to be!
— Caroline & Rob
Rebecca was absolutely fantastic on so many levels. In holding a quiet container of space for myself and my husband, for keeping a sense of humor, and always checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable and that my needs were being met. Rebecca also played a critical role at the moment when the labor nurse suggested that we might need to entertain the idea of a c-section after I had not dilated beyond 6cm for over 10 hours. Rebecca and our nurse Rachel worked together seamlessly in helping me avoid a c-section by moving me into a handful of new positions to help guide the baby backwards and along with an amnio infusion, reposition her head to help progress dilation. AND IT WORKED!
— Becca, Doula Client
Rebecca is incredible and I can’t recommend her enough! We had the pleasure of taking her Birthing from Within class as well as having her as our doula for the birth of our child. She really shaped our experience of the process in a positive way. Her gentle, intuitive guidance; her advocacy; her wealth of knowledge; and her calming, grounding presence made all the difference.

Rebecca supported me in trusting my gut. She was incredibly supportive and encouraged me to advocate for myself. She never pressured us but was there if we needed her, which we did so I am so grateful!!
