As a birth doula and photographer, childbirth educator, and mother, I have been deeply involved in the birthing space for over 15 years years, from moving on a yoga mat with mothers to holding their hand in labor, through birth and as they walk through postpartum. I sincerely believe that the day you become a mother will be one of the most profound moments in your life.

And your pregnancy, birth and the early days with your baby will live with you forever. And while the days are long and we have cameras capturing so many of those moments, your BIRTH is not one of those moments!

And what a gift to be able to have not only birth support from an experienced doula but also have photos of those moments, too!

I am so honored to be able to be there to not only support you as your birth doula at such a pivotal moment in your life but to also get to capture so many of your sacred moments of your journey through labor and birth with my camera. While I do not tell your story (only you can do that), my approach to birth photography is that of storytelling through the lens of my camera.

Why should you hire a Birth Photographer for your birth?

Many families may choose to have their birth professionally documented for multiple reasons!

Some of those include:

To preserve the memories of your birth that can fade in the wake of birth hormones and exhaustion that follows.
To allow for both parents to be in the photos, capturing the raw, unfiltered emotions and firsts!
To have documentation that often helps you process your birth story as you go through it from your perspective in the days, weeks and years that follow.
Because they LOVE photography and know they want to have this special moment captured by someone who has the eye for storytelling.

I love photographing births at hospitals, birth centers and home births in Denver and Boulder, and other locations along the front range including Lafayette, Longmont, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Aurora, HIghlands Ranch and Englewood, Colorado.
I have been photographing births for the past four years! Last year, I completed a training with Birth Becomes You with Monet Moutrie and Jennifer Mason Photography where I became a Certified Birth Photographer. In all, I have photographed over 100 births, where I was also a doula.
Whether you are my doula client, or you hire me as just your Birth Photographer, we will meet ahead of your birth one time to discuss what it looks like to have me in your space, what you desire in your photos and what you feel most comfortable with as far as images. I am on call for you starting at 37 weeks and join you as your birth photographer in active labor. If I am your birth doula as well as taking birth photos, my priority is always to support you as your doula.
I stay with you through the delivery of your baby and up to two hours after to capture those early moments!
I usually delivery 100-150 professionally edited images within 6 weeks after your birth (with sneak peaks within a few days after your birth.) This number does depend on the amount of time I am at your birth (and how quickly you birth.)
I always have a backup doula and photographer.
My birth photography package costs $1800, with an on-call period starting at 37 weeks.
