Birth + Postpartum Doulas
Sarah Murane: Sarah is one of those mamas that I could talk to about motherhood for hours! She is a lovely birth doula and amazing Birth & Postpartum Doula AND does overnights, if you ask nicely. :)
The Braving Doula Collective: Find out all about them on this page here! They offer birth and postpartum doulas. I love the boundaries and clarity they have set up and offer care for ALL families structures and dynamics.
Sanctuary Doulas: This postpartum doula collective offers a wide-range of options in their doula support. I have personally met most of their doulas and feel they all bring something special to any family after their baby has arrived.
Sage Birth And Wellness Collective: Amy has created quite a collective in the Lyons, Boulder area. They focus on many different support options/modalities for the childbearing year. From Reiki and Massage, to birth and postpartum doula support, this is a one-stop shop with some amazing women! Check out their offerings!
Birth Assistants of Boulder: My husband Joel and I were lucky enough to have Bonnie Slater as our doula in October when we birthed our little girl! I would recommend any of the doulas listed and highly recommend Bonnie!
Other Amazing Resources for Pregnant Parents
[M]otherboard: [M]otherboard has created 70 evidence-based topics surrounding pregnancy, labor, birth, cesarean birth, the immediate postpartum, and common infant medications. This information flows from general to more specific details. Parents can decide when they’re “full” and ready to make decisions on that topic. Each section includes a benefits/risks section, as well as resources and other links. The resulting output is a beautiful and concise [M]otherboard.
Education, ease, inclusiveness. “Birth Preferences made easy!” We love this!
Amazing Care Providers in the Denver & Boulder Area!
Midwifery Care in Hospitals and Birth Centers:
Avista Midwives at Avista Women's Care - Many of my students have expressed a deep appreciation for the care options they have at Avista Women's Care in Louisville. I attended a beautifully supportive tough birth at Avista with the midwives and was happy to see midwifery care at it's best!
Rose Medical Birth Center: Many parents in my classes are raving about this birth center and all the new options for support at Rose Medical Center. Both Midwives and OBs at Rose come highly recommended!
Mountain Midwifer Birth Center- My first pregnancy was with this birth center, the only one at the time. I switched care from an OB at 15weeks and was so grateful for the gentle, evidenced based guidance I had throughout my pregnancy and care. It was surely a good fit for me and my family. When I transferred birth locations during birth, they were supportive and made sure I was taken care of. They offer out-of-hospital care that is top notch!
Janet Schwab: Janet is a Denver-based midwife with SO much experience! Her name is known far and wide (I often have her homebirth couples in my birth classes.) She offers support for mamas in a hospital setting AND at home, which is rare.
Gina Penka : Gina is an amazing midwife I've known for years. She taught my childbirth classes and she also offers home birth- focused Birthing From Within classes. I couldn't recommend her more!
Community Roots Midwifery: (Longmont/Boulder) The Community Roots Midwife Collective (CRMC) bringsg accessible, skilled and respectful home birth and reproductive health care access to the greater Boulder County community. Located in Longmont, these midwives offer compassionate and supportive care, and offer classes in their space.
